Brashear Softball/Baseball at Meadville October 1, 2018

Brashear made the long trek to Meadville Monday for a softball/baseball double-header. The Lady Tigers scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st to take a lead they would maintain to the end. Things got a little as Meadville scored 3 in the 5th and 3 in the 7th, but Brashear held on for the 11-8 win. Emily Mason had 3 hits for Brashear, Sierra Snyder, Tanna Garlock, Alexa Higgins, Hannah Grissom, and Atalie Hagan had 2 hits each, with Aubrey Bleything and Averi Acton also having hits. Averi Acton got the start, striking out 8. Brashear finished conference play with a record of 6-2, finishing 3rd in conference.

The baseball game was a pitching duel until Brashear scored a run in the top of the 3rd, and Meadville scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Meadville broke out for 6 runs in the 5th to take a 10-1 lead. Brashear rallied for 2 runs in the 6th and 3 in the 7th, but that left them short of a win by a 10-6 score. Brhet Place had 2 hits for Brashear with Quin Allen, Wyatt Reeves, Levi Blankenship, Brandon Jochemsin, Garrett Housman, and Austin Peterson also having hits. Brhet Place got the start, striking out 9 in 4 innings of work. Garrett Housman pitched in relief. The Tigers finished 6-2 in conference for a 2nd place finish.
